Leidos Industrial Engineers designs and manufactures tooling for engine dress and pre-dress production lines. The tooling can be utilized with overhead conveyors and slings with floor-mounted conveyor systems.

The fixture shown above was designed for use by Ford Motor Company in Valencia, Spain, to assist in production of its Fiesta, Kuga, Mondeo, Transit and Galaxy vehicle variants.
Multiple copies of the unit are fitted to platens on a roller conveyor. Its turntable design allows engines to be easily oriented to the most suitable position for operators and the assembly process. This particular tool is capable of supporting numerous engine and gearbox types (automatic or manual) in any combination.
When a prototype design has been proven on-site, bulk manufacture can begin. All fixtures are inspected using our in-house CMM machines before being packed and ready for shipment.
