For assembly of engines to gearboxes, Leidos Industrial Engineers has designed and manufactured a number of tooling fixtures commonly known as ”buckle up.”
We most recently developed a “Fead” pallet that was introduced in the JLR Solihull, West Midlands, facility as part of its D7A/D7U project.
The Fead pallet is capable of assembling 14 different engines to four different gearbox types using interchangeable adaptive tooling for each combination.
